Aaron Ross-Swain

President

Aaron Ross-Swain is the founder and driving force behind Fieldstone Communities, LLC, a residential home building and development firm based in Sacramento, California. Aaron’s love for construction began early-sweeping floors and hauling lumber on his father’s job sites sparked a lifelong passion for home building. Over weekends, holidays, and summers, he immersed himself in the trades, developing a deep appreciation for hard work, craftsmanship, and teamwork.

Aaron earned his degree in Business Administration from Chico State University, and went on to build his career with both public and private home builders. These roles provided a comprehensive education in all facets of the industry-from land acquisition and site planning to entitlements, CEQA, finance, development, and vertical construction.

Since founding Fieldstone Communities in 2019, Aaron has remained committed to designing vibrant neighborhoods, building high-quality homes, and giving back to the community he proudly calls home. With deep roots in Northern California, Aaron brings hands-on expertise, visionary leadership, and a people-first philosophy to every project.

Erika Madden

Senior Project Manager

Meet Erika Madden, our Project Manager & Forward Planner.  She brings over 19 years of experience in both custom and production home construction to our growing team, focusing her energy on estimating and land development.  Erika has contributed to the creation of new homes and communities at both small start-up builders and larger legacy builders, she thrives on details – from community streets to the details that turn a house into a home.

Chris Ward

Vice President of Operations

With over 25 years of leadership in construction operations, purchasing, and project management, Chris has a proven track record of driving quality, safety, and operational excellence in the homebuilding industry. Throughout his career, Chris has worked for several national homebuilders as well as a few subcontractors, giving a unique perspective promoting the necessity of a concerted team effort throughout. As the Vice President of Operations at Fieldstone Communities, Chris oversees the homebuilding process, ensuring that each customer receives a high-quality home along with their keys.

Don Ferrante

Chief Financial Officer

Meet Don Ferrante, our CFO. With over three decades of experience under his belt, Don knows his way around a balance sheet and a building site. He’s spent more than 30 years guiding organizations in land development, residential and commercial projects, and office building operations, turning big ideas into well-grounded realities.

A numbers guru with a knack for strategy, Don leads the charge on financial reporting, budgets, and project feasibility analysis, making sure every venture not only adds up but stands out. Don earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from San Diego State University (1984) and a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University (1993).

Nole Gemmell

Superintendent

Nole started in the construction industry in the late 80’s working his way up through different trades.

He relocated to the Sacramento area in 1998 and spent 10 Years with a National Builder. In 2008 He got His General Contractors license and built a few custom homes before returning to the industry and taking on Multifamily as well as Residential.

He brings an Eye for detail as well as his vast construction knowledge to Fieldstone…”It feels good at the end of the day to look back and see your accomplishments”.

Customer service is important, never forgetting to address Buyers’ needs along the way. Nole enjoys taking a new customer(s) through their future homes before installation of drywall to show them all of the different components how everything works behind the scenes.

Jay Schumaker

Superintendent

Jay brings 30 years of experience in the building industry. Starting in 1994, after the Northridge Earthquake, he began the journey of his career, in building, as a laborer.

Continuing his course from Southern California, he moved to Sacramento and worked his way up through the different roles, from detailer, customer service, assistant superintendent to Superintendent.

Jay’s experience includes working on small in-fill projects, apartments, residential communities, and semi-custom homes. He possesses excellent project-management skills and a great customer satisfaction record.

As an Army Veteran, he also brings a strong work ethic and a highly successful team collaboration history. As a part of Fieldstone Communities, he is able to continue to build his skills and share his experience to contribute to the vision of happy home buyers, trade partners, and team members.

When he is not working, you can find him in the sky, flying his experimental airplane built by his father or volunteering with the North State BIA and HomeAid Sacramento.

Elizabeth Fernandez

Operations Coordinator

Elizabeth is an operations coordinator in the home-building industry, known for her approachable style and strong cross-functional support. Born and raised in Mexico, she brings a rich cultural perspective and a bilingual fluency in English and Spanish that strengthens communication across diverse teams and trade partners.

With experience in administrative operations, customer service, accounting, marketing and contract processing, Elizabeth delivers clarity and efficiency to fast-moving project environments. She holds a B.A. in Tourism Business Administration from the Instituto Tecnologico de Sonora and has previously served in roles in human resources, contracts administration and operations support.

Driven, collaborative, and solutions-focused, she is dedicated to supporting operational excellence and contributing to positive customer and team experiences.
